Johnny Carson: Did Magic Tricks & Impressed The Navy Secretary
The TV host and comedian Johnny Carson’s military service was pretty exciting if you ask us – not because he fought in a combat zone or so but because he got a chance to amuse someone as strict as James Forrestal (then Secretary of US Navy) with his magic tricks.
It was the moment when he realized his ability to entertain and went on to pursue a career in comedy. Interestingly, Carson even submitted a thesis on writing jokes during his college. Even though he didn’t get to participate in the war arena, he definitely made a strong mark as an artist.
