What’s She Digging For?
While the rest of the elephants wandered off, one stayed put, energetically digging away. The people watching were baffled by what this focused female elephant was doing. Was she on a mission to find something valuable buried below? Elephants are pretty good at digging and are known to uncover hidden water sources.
They can pull out as much as two gallons of water, sipping it up with their trunks while getting minerals from the earth. But this wasn’t your usual search for water. Time ticked by and she kept at it, leaving everyone wondering why she wasn’t following her group. With every bit of dirt she moved, her purpose became more intriguing.
