The Grim Reaper Tried, But These Famous Faces Said Hell No

William Shatner – Born in 1931

When it comes to iconic TV captains, nobody does it like William Shatner. He became a global star in the 1960s as Captain James T. Kirk on “Star Trek,” boldly leading the crew of the USS Enterprise into television history. The show ran only three seasons, but went on to spark a cultural phenomenon that made him a legend.

In the 1980s, he traded space for the streets in “T.J. Hooker,” then surprised fans again by hosting the hit series “Rescue 911.” By the 2000s, he was back in the spotlight with his Emmy-winning role as the eccentric Denny Crane on “Boston Legal.”
