Tackles Turn into Ballet
Chaos almost broke loose near the touchline when Harry Kane leaped sideways to escape Scott Dann’s sliding tackle during Tottenham Hotspur’s tense clash with Crystal Palace in 2017. The English striker leaned sideways to avoid the tackle. Palace’s manager, Roy Hodgson, stood nearby, looking like a man trying to predict if this would end in disaster or applause.
Every move froze for a second that felt longer than ninety minutes. Despite the heavy pressure, Spur kept control and pulled off a narrow 1-0 win. Scott may have thrown his body into it, but Kane’s quick thinking helped him dance away from trouble without losing the bigger battle.
