Donna Summer – Died at 63 Years Old
LaDonna Adrian Gaines is best known by the name Donna Summer, and she was a songwriter, singer, artist, and performer. Donna was raised in Massachusetts along with six siblings. She began singing at eight years old by replacing a vocalist in the family church.
While in school, Summer continued learning music and left to tour with Crow just weeks before her graduation. Summer, unfortunately, gave in to her struggle against lung cancer, finally resting in 2012. Summer was a non-smoker, but she believed that her illness was caused by the inhaling of the dust and toxic fumes after the September 11 attack on the twin towers.
