Simon Cowell had already established himself as a shrewd producer in the music industry, before blasting to public fame as the ruthfully honest judge we love to hate, on Pop Idol, X-Factor, and American Idol. It seems that the critic is as shrewd in business as he is in judging, having a diverse portfolio of interests – including a company called Syco, which is made up of three different branches of music, film, and TV. We don’t mean to be rude, but even if he is a bit mean, this is one smart judge.
