At this point in the story, it is apparent that Joyce certainly has a matchless eye for detail which is visible through the choice of colors she has employed all over the house. Just notice the wallpapers, furniture, walls, home décor, mattresses, sheets, they all reflect her love for pastel colors.
Evidently, she is a fan of soothing pigments like pink, aqua, seafoam, purple and has arranged everything in a way that one thing complements the other. The choice of soft colors for the walls match perfectly well with the bright windows making everything looks calm and pleasant to the eyes.
