Hana’s pulse thudded with each step, frustration tightening in her throat. No one would listen—but that didn’t mean she’d stop trying. She moved purposefully, ignoring the stares and sidesteps, until she spotted someone who might still care. Steve. He’d been in more challenging situations.
She didn’t need to explain much—one look at her face and he was already reaching for his gloves. “Alright,” he said, voice low and focused, “take me to it.” It wasn’t bravado. It was the kind of calm that doesn’t ask for all the details. Hana exhaled for the first time in minutes. Finally, someone else saw what she saw. And maybe—just maybe—it wouldn’t be too late.
