Something Moved in the Dark
Peter’s hands trembled as he adjusted the flashlight, its narrow beam slicing through the suffocating black. The soft skittering that had haunted him for minutes now echoed louder, bouncing off the damp stone like a warning. He swept the light toward the sound, and his breath caught mid-chest. Lined along the walls, clustered in pockets, were eyes—small, glowing, and far too many.
