Leonard Nimoy – Pulmonary Disease
Possibly the most famous actor in this list, Leonard Nimoy’s iconic portrayal of Spock in the ‘Star Trek’ series is etched in the minds of ’80s kids. While he might not have replicated the success outside the franchise, the star was a great photographer and also got a doctorate from Boston University. He was active in the film circuit till 2013 and played Spock for one last time before succumbing to a chronic pulmonary ailment.
Nimoy’s acclaim transcended across generations with numerous books and documentaries talking about him and his on-screen characters. Speaking of popularity, a Belgian astronomer named an entire asteroid after him – it is called ‘4864 Nimoy!’
