These Anchor Fails Are So Embarrassing You’ll Feel Secondhand Shame

Andy Kaufman’s Explosive Showdown with Jerry Lawler on ‘Late Night with David Letterman’

In 1982, comedian Andy Kaufman, renowned for his avant-garde performances and role in “Taxi,” appeared on “Late Night with David Letterman” alongside professional wrestler Jerry “The King” Lawler. This guest appearance followed their infamous wrestling feud, during which the former provocatively wrestled women and declared himself the “Inter-Gender Wrestling Champion,” leading to a staged rivalry with the latter.

On the show, tensions escalated rapidly; Jerry slapped Andy, knocking him off his chair. In response, the funnyman unleashed a tirade filled with expletives and hurled a cup of coffee at the athlete before storming off the set. Needless to say, the audience was left in stunned silence.
