Sam Elliott – Born in 1944

If cool had a voice, it would sound like Sam Elliott. With that calm swagger, he became Hollywood’s ultimate cowboy. His first big break came in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” in 1969, but it was “Mask” in 1985 that showcased his softer side and made audiences swoon over him again.

Through the 1990s, he owned the screen in “Tombstone” and “Gettysburg,” bringing quiet strength to every role. Then, in 1998, he appeared in “The Big Lebowski” as the mysterious Stranger, cementing his cult status. Decades later, he earned his first Oscar nomination for “A Star Is Born” in 2018.
