Ron Howard – Born in 1954

Ever wonder what it looks like when a child star grows up and conquers Hollywood twice? That’s Ron Howard for you. He started as adorable little Opie on “The Andy Griffith Show,” then charmed a generation as Richie Cunningham on “Happy Days” in the 1970s.
Most actors might’ve stayed in front of the camera, but not him. By 1977, he was directing films, and soon his name was behind hits like “Splash,” “Apollo 13,” and “A Beautiful Mind,” which won him Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director in 2002. He proved his storytelling magic again with “Frost/Nixon” and “The Da Vinci Code.”
