Billy Dee Williams – Born in 1937

When it comes to cool, few ever did it better than Billy Dee Williams. He became a Hollywood heartthrob in the 1970s with roles in “Lady Sings the Blues” and “Mahogany,” both opposite Diana Ross, proving charm could be effortless. Then came 1980, when he stepped into the “Star Wars” universe as Lando Calrissian in “The Empire Strikes Back.”
Two years later, he returned in “Return of the Jedi,” sealing his place in pop culture forever. Beyond the galaxy, he showed his acting chops in “Brian’s Song,” earning an Emmy nomination, and built a name as a painter and writer.
