Morgan Freeman – Born in 1937

There’s something about Morgan Freeman that makes every scene feel important. He started on the kids’ show “The Electric Company” in the 1970s, but his big moment came with “Street Smart” in 1987, which earned him his first Oscar nomination.
Then came “Driving Miss Daisy,” “Glory,” and of course “The Shawshank Redemption,” where he delivered one of the most memorable performances in movie history. In 2004, he finally took home an Academy Award for “Million Dollar Baby,” solidifying his place among the greats. Whether he’s playing a mentor, president, or God himself, few performers have mastered the art of presence quite like him.
