Jerry Lee Lewis – 83, $50 million
Jerry Lee Lewis’ mother and father mortgaged their home just to buy him a piano, but their sacrifice led to his becoming a legendary rock ‘n roll artist. He started performing as a singer mostly on radio and at concert halls with hit songs such as Great Balls of Fire and Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On.
Jerry lived a very controversial life – first by marrying his 13-year-old cousin at the age of 22. It caused a quick drop in his popularity, and very little chart successes or income afterward. He regained some by switching to country music. Lewis went on to re-marry for more than six times and got divorced many times as well!
