Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s relationship began in 2009 while filming “The Last Song,” leading to a decade-long on-and-off romance. They became engaged in 2012 but broke up in 2013, only to rekindle their relationship in 2016. In December 2018, after their home was destroyed in the California wildfires, they married in a private ceremony.
However, by August 2019, they announced their separation, and the Australian star filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The divorce was finalized in January 2020. The Disney actress later revealed that she decided to end the marriage during her performance at the Glastonbury Festival in June 2019.
