Finding yourself laid out on the turf at the Meadowlands is one thing, but Alex Van Dyke somehow turned it into an art form. As he hit the deck during a scuffle with Jay Bellamy, the football decided it had its comedic timing, floating downward with dangerous aim. It froze midair like a slapstick scene in a sports blooper reel.
Alex, clad in New York Jets green, tried to regroup while photographers caught the second that made every fan wince. With the ball looking ready to deliver a low blow and defenders charging in, the chaos ended with a penalty call, but the real damage was to his dignity.
