Madeleine Albright – Undisclosed Amount, Washington, D.C
With Madeleine Albright’s passing in 2022, it is almost certain that her home in Georgetown will become a tourist destination. Of course, visitors would like to see where the first female secretary of state resided for more than five decades. The property, two-conjoined houses, was the late politician’s second home in the historic neighborhood.
She first moved in with her husband and three children in 1962 to a house in 3421 R St., then later transferred to this one on 34th Street. Albright remained in this Classic Georgian sanctuary even after her divorce from Joseph Albright in 1982. If we must guess, the lovely sitting room is the diplomat’s favorite room, with the plump, oversized sofa by the floor-to-ceiling windows.
