Here’s the True Story Behind ‘The Blind Side’

Racial Differences Within the Family

Although the racial conflict was highlighted only twice in the film, everyone involved was far more at risk. The Tuohys enjoyed having Michael around, but Anne soon realized that her family occasionally exhibited racist tendencies and found it hard to adjust. Nonetheless, they welcomed him with open arms, and he soon became one of them.

Michael felt valued and cared for like any other member of the family after moving in with Anne and Sean. The iconic football player also remarked how unpleasant the feeling was when he had to stay with other foster families that barely wanted him.
