Maggie Smith’s career on screen has been unparalleled, and after six decades of delivering quality performances, she’s considered one of Britain’s most prominent actresses. That’s why she was pronounced a Dame by the Queen in 1990 after all.
Younger generations know Smith from her role as Minerva McGonagall, the strict yet righteous teacher from The Harry Potter series, but her career dates way back. In the late 2010s, Smith announced that she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but not only did she not retire, but she also kept landing roles and even managed to recover fully. We couldn’t be any happier for her.
