How to Thrive On Your Ambitions and Enjoy Your Success
There is nothing wrong with being ambitious. In fact, if you are seen by others as a driven person, then you must be used to people praising you for being so motivated and goal-oriented. However, this ambitious nature can slowly turn into an obsession, and before you know it, your entire life could be taken over by the relentless drive for more: more money, fame, power, responsibility, or control.
In the fast-paced world we live in today, it has become increasingly necessary to take a pause once in a while to maintain a healthy mind and body. We recommend a balance between being ambitious, which means striving for more, and being satisfied with what you already have.
It may sound strange to you as the two seem the opposite of one another, but once you strike a balance between them, you would realize how you would’ve started to enjoy life much more than you used to in the past.
If all this talk seems ambiguous or vague to you, then let us break it down into action items which you can follow to lead a more content life.

Celebrate Your Accomplishments
It is easy to forget about what you have achieved in a year, especially if you are the type of person who is always looking ahead into the future. But it’s very important that you keep reminding yourself about where you have come from and all that you have already achieved. A major reason why this is important is because once you start focusing on your own success, you will stop focusing on the success of others.
A healthy approach to self-improvement is to compare yourself to your past rather than with the present of others. Remember, everyone is following a different timeline and destiny, and so it’s crucial that you focus on your own self. Whenever you improve upon yourself compared to who you were in the past, celebrate the occasion by making yourself a great meal, or simply watching your favorite film with some homemade popcorn.

Practice Mindfulness
You must’ve been hearing the word mindfulness a lot these days especially if you read about mental health in magazines. However, many people are still unclear about what it actually means to be mindful. To put things into perspective, the term mindfulness simply means that you should become and remain conscious of all elements in your life at the present moment, without worrying about the past or the future.
Maintaining focus on the present does two things: firstly, it helps you achieve many tasks in a day which you otherwise leave till the very last moment, and secondly, it enables you to make the right decisions as you are completely focused on the variables around you.
As soon as you feel like you are drifting off into a time-consuming planning session in your mind, take a deep breath and remind yourself that the current moment is the only one that matters.
Be Kind
We are often told in the corporate setting that to succeed, one must disconnect from all human emotions and make emotionless, rational decisions in the workplace. However, and unfortunately, many people adopt an emotionless mindset in their personality believing it will lead them to greater success.
Instead, being kind to other people has proven to be a great source of energy, and a great way to detox from the hectic, emotionless corporate life.
Many people who are kind tend to sustain their levels of happiness in the long term. Just take the example of some of the most successful people in the world like Bill Gates: they are the kindest souls on this planet having invested billions in philanthropic efforts, and that is partially the reason behind their success.

Be The Reason Why Others Have Fun
There is a difference between having fun and being fun, the former is selfish and draining, while the latter is a collective effort so that everyone in the group ends up having a great time. If you meet with people simply because you have fun with them, there is a chance you are draining them up of their positive energy.
Instead, aim for more sustainable relationships, which are only possible if you become someone who wants everyone to have fun.
This way, you will build stronger bonds which will ultimately provide the necessary support system to help you get through your tough routine work by helping you detox over the weekend.
