It was in 1929 when Nehemiah Persoff, who was born in Jerusalem in Palestine, left Israel and moved to the United States, where he started pursuing a career in acting. Immediately following WWII, he worked as a subway. Meanwhile, he pursued acting.
He counts many great roles in his rich acting career, including parts on Ellery Queen, Adam-12, Five Fingers, Route 66, and The Legend of Jesse James. With a profession that’s extended over fifty-two years, he’s been seen in over 200 TV shows, plays, and movies. After retiring from acting, Persoff became a painter with residency in California, where he’s staying with his wife Thia Persoff.
