There are plenty of advantages to being rich and famous, many of which related to the wealth you can accumulate and the ability to enjoy life’s pleasures without having to calculate each of your moves. A fine house will not only provide you with protection, security, and stability in the world, it will also serve as a haven from the world to these paparazzi-haunted celebrities, as well as a smart long-term investment. We know the type of home we’d buy if we were rich and famous, but if you’re still not sure, we give you this sneak peek to some of the most famous celeb houses in the world. Grandiloquent resort!
Mike Myers – New York, $14.675 Million
From supercars to personal assistants, Mike Myers is a celebrity who has it all, and that couldn’t be more obvious when you take a look inside his home. As the voice of Shrek, Myers attracts a lot of attention, so we can see why he forked out an insane $15 million (almost) for this enormous ‘paparazzi proof’ condo in NYC.
The apartment which features 4 stunning bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms also came with access to a beautifully landscaped courtyard, luxurious marble swimming pool, and a magnificent, climate-controlled wine cellar, along with many other gorgeous features that definitely make it worth the money.
Sean Connery: $1.84 Million, County Wicklow
Most people remember actor Sean Connery for being the first James Bond ever. Connery has a very impressive portfolio of residences and has lived in breathtaking places over the years. He once owned a beautiful house in County Wicklow which served as his special retreat for whenever he needed a break from all the Hollywood madness.
He did not really plan to own it forever and in 2013, he decided to sell the house with an asking price of $1.84 million. Connery has been retired for quite some time now and his last on-screen role was in the movie, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, in 2003.
Dr. Oz – $18 Million, Florida
Dr. Mehmet Oz is a Turkish born cardiothoracic surgeon and American TV personality. We all know that surgeons get paid well but just how well might be a surprise! Dr. Oz has recently added to his vast collection of houses, an $18M luxury on Florida’s Palm Beach that was constructed way back in 1919.
He has the great honour of being first person outside the family to own this house since it was built, and as you would imagine, it remains in pristine condition. Most of us can only dream of owning such a perfectly preserved piece of history.
